Dubai Expo 2020

Expo 2020 is coming to Dubai. The dream city has just added another feather to its already burgeoning cap. The implications of this massive expo are already being felt across the globe and more so in Dubai itself. There is an air of expectancy, urgency from the business class to expand their footprint on the Dubai soil. Everyone wants a piece of the action and right now. The result is that there are more hotels coming up, real estate construction has picked up speed like there is no tomorrow. Developments in prime locations and mega projects that were moving not so fast are zooming into completion mode. 

The environment is palpable and you can feel it in the Dubai air.

Dubai is already the global melting pot when it comes to finance, fashion, entertainment, extravaganza and even the quality of living itself. Being blessed in terms of geography, Dubai is the ideal gateway to the Middle East, Asia and Africa. It has therefore attracted the best skills, talents, companies and investments from across every nook and corner of the globe, literally.  By bagging the much coveted EXPO 2020, Dubai has now etched itself as a real serious destination that does not only mean fun but also means business. The selection of Dubai as the host came amidst stiff competition from other leading cities of the developed world. This fact, all the more, reiterates that Dubai has the mettle to be one of the best locations in the modern world for all things including big business.

What is so unique about Expo 2020??

Expo 2020 is a Universal scale Registered Exposition time slot sanctioned by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), Paris on 27 November 2013. As a Registered Exposition it may be held for a maximum of six months and it is designed with a universal theme that applies to the entire mankind.
The theme that won hearts and tilted the scales in favor of Dubai, UAE was “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. The subthemes for the same are Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity.  The Expo is actually a herculean event that helps hundreds of countries to showcase their progressive thinking in architecture, development, science and technology.

Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who has supported the bid wholeheartedly also stated the following "In today’s highly interconnected world, a renewed vision of progress and development based on shared purpose and commitment is the key. While a single human mind, an individual country, or a specific community is both unique and remarkable, it is by working collaboratively that we truly advance."

The true spirit, enterprise, co-operation, unity, progressive mindset and understanding of the entire UAE region came to the fore during the presentation making Dubai the unanimous choice as the host for this Expo.

In fact The World Expo in Dubai in 2020 will be the first to be held in the MENA & SA (Middle East and North Africa & South Asia) region and that is another strong reason for Dubai & UAE to be proud of.
